Key Features:
Food and Beverage: Gioie Della Tavola! (The Joys of the Table) The chef at NHLC has created a menu that recalls the joy, warmth, and magic that is the Italian table. Served at elegant stations, you’ll feel like you’re experiencing an official Italian family feast featuring creative interpretations of the favorite dishes found at the table of a traditional Italian special occasion. The menu will evoke the joyous gatherings of our founders in Wooster Square. Vegetarian options are available. Visit the bars situated at various locations throughout the Club and be sure to sample from each of our dessert carts! Centennial Ball Program Throughout the cocktail portion of the evening you will encounter various “street performers” from the NMS community of artists. Teaching artists, students, and alumni will delight you with each unexpected encounter. Be prepared at 7:15PM to follow the music into the Ballroom for the grand finale and special function to follow. Special Function: Scholarship Fund-the-Future Goal: To Raise as Much Scholarship Funding as Possible! NMS Scholarship/Financial Aid is a key area of focus for fundraising in this Centennial year. Not only do we seek to sustain our commitment to students currently receiving financial aid, but also we seek to increase the pool of funding so that we can include an even larger group of students in NMS programs. This includes an increase in our collaborations with schools, particularly the New Haven Public School system. Early in the evening, our performers and a few special guests including professional auctioneer, Kathy Kingston, will take a very short pause (we promise!) with an invitation to you to support Scholarships at Neighborhood Music School. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to support these critical programs. NMS was founded on the concept of access to all. One hundred years later, you enable us to hold true to that mission. Contributions of all sizes are welcome to support our scholarship/financial aid program. Even if your budget doesn't allow a sizable donation, please come to learn more about the program and make some noise in appreciation of our terrific school community. Dinner Entertainment Choose from three dinner entertainment options, or explore each space and the delightful performances of NMS teaching artists.
Dancing the Night Away It wouldn’t be an NMS Ball without dancing to the music of The Taxmen. Back again to close out the night, this three piece band has become a part of the NMS party tradition. Sip your coffee, indulge in the decadent dessert selection, then dance it all off on the dance floor until the clock strikes twelve! Beverage nitty-gritty Wine, beer, and mixed drinks are served free throughout the evening. All non-alcoholic beverages including coffee and tea are also served for free. Attire Centennial Celebrations don’t happen every day; break out those bowties and tails; we’re throwing a black tie affair! For the boldest of our family, we challenge you to come in formal wear from your favorite decade of the last century. This is your night to shine – whether slipping into an incredible gown is your thing or finding a fabulous 1930’s party dress, wear what you want to be comfortable and to have fun! Transportation & Parking There will be plenty of parking available at the event venue, but if you can swing it, try to find a mode of transportation where you don’t have to drive. We want you to have fun and we don’t want you to feel uncomfortable getting home. The bartenders and check-in team will be available to call taxi cabs for you – anytime of the night. Check in Your RSVP puts you on our list – we are not issuing tickets. Dinner entertainment selections are first-come-first-serve; register early to get the venue of your choice! Even if you have paid for your ticket, we ask that you register by giving your name at the registration table just inside the entrance of the NHLC. Coat Check There will be a coat check upon entry.
